ミルクティーは、紅茶とミルクのどちらを先に入れる方が美味しい？

昨日に引き続き、紅茶に関する情報のご紹介です。

◇「ミルクが先」で決着

3年前にイギリスで決着されたのは、知っていましたが、あらためて紹介されていました。結論のポイントは、熱い紅茶にミルクを注ぐと、高温に突然さらされた影響でミルク内のタンパク質が凝集し、変異しやすいことを確認したからとのこと。

成分の面からすると、この結果なのでしょうが、私はイギリスの階級文化とマナー面から、この結果は結果として受け止めて、やはり「ミルク」は後にしたいと思います。イギリスではワーキングクラスの方は、ミルクが先。アッパーミドルクラス以上は、ミルクが後。傾向的に多いと思います。銀行などトラディッショナルな英国企業の就職試験では、紅茶の淹れ方が試され、クラスをチェックされているとも言われています。

私が感じる1番大切ことは、臨機応変にその場にあわせることだと思います。ホステスや会場のゲストの皆さんと同じようにすることが、どちらであっても、スマートですよね。どちらかあっている、間違えているわけではなく、結論がでても、どちらも存在します。外国人の私たちは、理解することが大切です。

◇「泡立てて入れる」流行－－１日３杯／９６％ティーバッグ／９８％ミルク

コーヒーショップでオーダーすると、泡立てられたミルク入り紅茶をいただくことが多くなりました。クリーミーで実は私もちょっとした虜になっていて、外出先ならではの、楽しみ方にしています。

それにしても、ブラマーさん最近露出増えていますね（＾＾）

数日前に調度、ミルクが先か後かという本を読んだばかりでした。今までミルクを先に入れるという事を考えたことが無かったのですが、イギリスではそのようなことまで階級分けの基準になるとは驚きの事実でした。私たちはＴＰＯに合わせて、お互いに気持ちよく、ティータイムを共有することが大切なんですね。私が読んだ本にも、「イギリスの一種のジョーク位に考えておいて良いでしょう。」という結論でした。

私が読んだのは、ミルク論争のどちらの本でもありません。
「英国紅茶への招待」という本です。
かなり古い本なのですが、久しぶりに読み返していると、
ミルクの件について書かれてあったので、気になっていたのでした。
